Pressing Pause for Our Girl, Chloe
Because what makes a house a home is who you share it with.
This week’s post isn’t about a renovation project or a new thrifted find—it's about something a little more personal and way more important.
If you’ve been following along, you know Chloe is our girl. She’s the four-legged heart of our home—our shadow, our supervisor, and our snuggle buddy. So when we noticed a small, questionable spot on her chest, I asked the vet to check it out during her yearly appointment on Monday.
We were hoping for something minor. But after taking a look, the vet told us it was cancer. The good news? We caught it early. The scary news? It had to be removed right away.
On Thursday, Chloe had surgery to remove the tumor. She’s now recovering with a few stitches, lots of cuddles, and more than a few soft blankets (you know I couldn’t resist making her little cozy corners for recovery). She's sore, but doing well—and even starting to get her playful spark back.
Needless to say, we’ve hit pause on renovations this week. Projects can wait. Paint can wait. Creating a home that feels like “us” also means caring for the ones who make it feel like home. Chloe is a huge part of our story here, and this week, she’s been our number one priority.
Thank you so much for your patience while we’ve taken a beat to care for her. We’re so grateful for your support and kindness. And don’t worry—we’ll be back soon with more updates, projects, and a few very Chloe-approved cozy corners.
With love,
Ashley, Billy, and Chloe 🐾
